Karly fell in love with gymnastics in Medicine Hat at a young age, starting classes at 3 years old and joining competitive artistic gymnastics at age 7. Since then, gymnastics has been a big part of her life working as an assistant coach at age 11 and judging at age 14. Since moving to Moose Jaw in 2015, she has enjoyed coaching many preschool, recreational and competitive athletes including her own children. When not at the gym, she spends her time being active with her family, reading, and making craft projects with varying levels of success. Her favourite gymnastics memories include participating as an athlete at Alberta Winter Games, traveling to Anaheim, California to watch the 2003 World Championships and judging at 2023 Nationals in Richmond, BC.
